Mati is a Humanist spiritual care practitioner, Feminist Jewish theologian and performance artist. She is a graduate of The University of Chicago’s Masters in Theology and Ministry studies program, where she began her clinical pastoral training at Northwestern Memorial Hospital specializing in psychiatric and behavioral health chaplaincy.

About this Speaker

She currently provides spiritual care at Mount Sinai Hospital, her clinical assignments include Transplant and Gastro-intestinal surgical units. She is practiced in accompanying patients and families through important life transitions, end-of-life care, and trauma. Mati uses her training in performance art and writing practice to develop spiritual care techniques to produce theological praxis and artistry in the service of care and grief counseling. Her research and artistic pursuits, bridges the worlds of existentialist, humanist, and Jewish thought, utilizing the arts, and ritual as mediums for facilitating community and connection into the public discourse.
